Contract Signing and Groundbreaking Ceremony of Xixian Fengdong Overseas Chinese Town (“Xixian Fengdong OCT”) was held at Xi’an OCT Operation Centre. As Design Architect of the Xixian Fengdong Cultural Center, gateway project of the development, Aedas Chairman and Global Design Principal, Keith Griffiths, Deputy Managing Director of Aedas China, Liu Yinsheng and Executive Director Yaochun Wen, attended the ceremony.
Xixian Fengdong OCT is a key project under OCT Group’s strategic partnership with Xi’an Municipal Government on its “Culture + Tourism + Urbanization” development scheme. The project would be developed around the historic relics of Haojing, Capital of Western Zhou Dynasty and origin of Zhou Rituals. Aedas will be responsible for design of the gateway program – Xixian Fengdong Cultural Center. With Haojing Heritage Park standing to its east and Fenghe Wetland Park and a Shijing-themed town to its west, the Cultural Centre is positioned as a prestigious commercial complex that integrates civic and commercial programs, blending a modern lifestyle into the rich history and cultural legacy of the region.
Aedas has already built a strong portfolio in Xi’an. The recently completed Airport Intercity Railway provides seamless connection between the city’s subway, high-speed rail and airport; Xi’an Mosaic Plaza, CRLand The Mixc and The City Shopping Centre (Aedas involved in Interior Design) are latest hot spots of leisure and entertainment for the citizens; and Lanfonce Centre, comprising of the Xi’an Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and a Grade A office tower, is a prime choice for business occasions. With an integrated approach to accommodate local culture and history with modern architectural language, Aedas designs continue to contribute to the unique cityscape of Xi’an while creating urban public spaces and new destinations for the local communities.
