Aedas Director Leon Liang shares his expertise on urban planning and TOD design

16 October 2020

Aedas Director and Head of Urban Design and Landscape Leon Liang was invited to attend an academic forum hosted by Shenzhen Metro Group.

During the forum, Leon introduced and spoke about the design and construction of TOD projects from the perspectives of concept planning, architectural design and project implementation. A thoughtful discussion and conversation with experts and Shenzhen Metro employees followed.

Leon believes that the future city hubs will cultivate synergy between transportation and the community instead of merely connecting the station and the city. When we design TOD projects, we focus not only on traffic efficiency and building aesthetic, but also the circulation of pedestrians, comfort, ease of use and accessibility. The hub will be designed to serve the city and cultivate its growth and the TOD model will truly be the gateway to this unity.

Leon has 15 years of architectural design experience in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. As an expert in urban planning, landscape and TOD design at Aedas, he has led the design of many landmark projects in China and abroad, including the recent Shenzhen Xili Transportation Hub Urban Design, Dongguan Humen High-speed Rail Staion Expansion and Beijing Metro Line 16 Beianhe Depot Topside Development.
