Aedas Executive Director Albert Tong delivers Keynote Speech at UK-China Sustainable Airport Planning and Design Forum

Albert Tong, Executive Director of Aedas, was invited to participate in the UK-China Sustainable Airport Planning and Design Forum held on 18 September 2019. He delivered a speech at the Forum as a keynote speaker, sharing Aedas’ mission and project experience in sustainable airport design with hundreds of specialists from the aviation industry.

Aedas aviation team has accumulated unparalleled experience in airport building design throughout the years. The practice has been highly acclaimed for its designs in the airport projects, including Yantai International Airport Terminal 2, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport Phase 2 development, as well as Third Runway Concourse, Terminal 2 Expansion, and the completed Midfield Concourse Terminal and North Satellite Concourse at the Hong Kong International Airport. Sustainability has always been one of the key visions and missions in Aedas’ designs. It refers not only to be environmentally friendly through elimination of energy consumption, it also focuses on functionality and space utilization, seeking to fulfill all possible demands in present and the future. In this regard, Albert has offered a detailed illustration based on Aedas’ solid project experience, with the perspectives of heritage and innovation.

The UK-China Sustainable Airport Planning and Design Forum was co-organized by the Air Traffic Management Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China, China Civil Airports Association, and China Aviation Supplies Holding Company. As one of the key sessions of the Civil Aviation Technology and Service Exposition 2019, it invites the industry specialists from national and international airports, aviation management, research institutions and design practices, to exchange experience in sustainable airport planning and design and explore the directions for future developments.
