Aedas Global Design Principal Dr Andy Wen was invited to give a speech at the 13th BEED 2021 Asia School Construction Conference——Educational Architecture Design Forum. Dr Andy Wen shared his ideas and project experiences in the campus architectural design and planning field, under the theme of “Creative·Cultural·Evolution” with the guests on site.
In his early years, Dr Andy Wen served as the dean of the Department of Architecture at Ming Chuan University, a well-known private university in Taiwan, and taught at Tsinghua University and the Central Academy of Fine Arts. This allows him to have a different understanding and observation in school construction as an educator in addition to his identity as an architect.
He believes that the design of campus buildings is not simply a copy of tradition, nor is it directly introduced to foreign countries, but an extension of local culture. Bringing more cultural and spiritual influences to students, and effectively serving the students, shaping more flexible and interactive learning environment.
