By means of integrating the authentic culture and characteristics, architecture makes a strong statement on creating urban icons to the city skyline. As an innovative architect with various significant projects completed, Aedas Global Design Principal Dr. Andy Wen shares his design insights and experience with Taiwan Commercial Times.
Andy is dedicated to deliver place-making destinations through his passion and deep social understanding of the cities. He believes a successful building should reflect the contemporary style and urban context, hence creating a sense of location with irreplaceable uniqueness.
With a diverse academic and career background, Andy has designed many urban icons that integrate the local features with architectural aesthetics. In Taiwan, he has completed Lè Architecture, which conveys the idea of roundness and elegance of river pebbles, as well as their strength and characters. Andy also completed National Trade Centre in Taiwan and Jiaotong-Liverpool University Campus in Xi’an, creating story-telling icons that cater multi-functions for the cities.
