Dr Andy Wen, Global Design Principal of Aedas, spoke at BAU Congress China again this year in Beijing.
Titled ‘Micro-Urbanism in Architecture’, Andy explained the issues of China urbanisation such as closed-box development, lost of public space and lack of local identity; and he use four real-life Aedas projects to illustrate how architects could introduce micro-urbanism into their designs for the better of the communities.
BAU Congress China is an annual congress, organised by German magazine Bauwelt, that focuses on high-quality design, planning and construction. The congress and its highly reputed speakers allows participants to experience best-practice examples and insights on structured, long-term and sustainable urban development.
