At the SHUIBEI International Centre grand opening ceremony, Aedas Global Design Principal Dr. Andy Wen, Managing Director – China William Wong and Director Nicole Liu attended and gave their opening address.
The SHUIBEI International Centre is located in a jewellery trading hub in Luohu District of Shenzhen, where the local government seeks to restructure industrial space via urban renewal and promote the industry’s growth. The SHUIBEI International Centre is a strategic and vital aspect in transforming the city and is a gateway to the district.
The design draws inspiration from traditional Chinese bamboos to symbolize prosperity and represent the corporation’s virtue and purity. The minimal tower is distinguished by openings along each node as the volume gradually peaks. The greenscape platform, outdoor landscaped stairs, public platforms and outdoor terrace garden on the podium cultivate synergy of the building and the city. An extensive LED screen sits along the base of the building to showcase the city’s vibrant energy and echo its urban texture.
