As one of the prominent seminars in the Smart China Expo 2019, the “China-UK Seminar on Smart Cities” was held in Chongqing on 27th August, so as to discuss the cooperation opportunities between the UK and Chongqing in smart buildings and future cities. Invited by the British Consulate-General in Chongqing, Aedas Beijing Executive Director Ning Huo and Aedas China Deputy Managing Director Yinsheng Liu attended the seminar. As the keynote speaker, Ning shared her insights on “cultural ecology in design” and Aedas’ urban design practices over the years.
“Smart cities are indispensable for building a modern, interconnected ‘Co-Working & Co-Living’ community, with infrastructure and public facilities closely connected together. Architectural design in smart cities should be rooted in the local culture and context, so that each architecture is able to stand out as a city icon with its unique cultural identity”. Ning explained.
Aedas China Deputy Managing Director Yinsheng Liu introduced Aedas’ development and design experience in the afternoon session of the Expo. Aedas-designed Chongqing Gaoke Group Ltd Office Project is nearing completion this year. It is expected to be one of the world’s most twisting towers, as an eye-catching addition to the city skyline in Chongqing.
