Aedas Global Principal Frank McGoldrick, Global Design Principal Christine Lam and Executive Director Stephen Cheng were named Fellows of Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA).
Frank has over 29 years of professional experience in architecture. As a Global Principal he plays a key leadership role in expanding and reinforcing Aedas’ strong presence in both established and emerging markets. Frank has a deep understanding of design and the construction industry. His forward-looking strategies have created numerous opportunities for Aedas and he has forged strategic alliances with government agencies, developers and engineering partners around the world. Frank possesses unparalleled experience in mega projects encompassing integrated resort, mixed-use and transport developments. He played a key role in the successful delivery of five Venetian Integrated Resort developments in Asia totaling 40 million square feet.
Christine is a talented design architect with 18 years of design experience. Her design expertise is retail and mixed-use design. She was the Lead Architect for the retail re-planning and design of The Landmark redevelopment for Hongkong Land and Lee Gardens 2 Renovation for Hysan in Hong Kong. As a Design Director, she completed the 250,000-square-metre Center 66 in Wuxi for Hang Lung. Christine was commissioned by Hang Lung to complete the 220,000-square-metre, six-storey retail mall Olympia 66 in Dalian. She is now completing Heartland 66, a 460,000-square-metre mixed-use development in Wuhan for the same client.
Stephen has over 32 years of professional experience in architecture. He is also a very experienced practicing Authorized Person in Hong Kong and plays a key leadership role for most of the company’s high-profile public and private development projects. With his extensive knowledge in building regulations and restrictions, Stephen is able to demonstrate the merits of design and negotiate successfully with various statutory authorities for fast and timely statutory approvals, ensuring every project are meeting the overall programme and client’s interests. Stephen’s proven track record includes, to name a few, Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities, The Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link Project, Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 2 Expansion and Third Runway Passenger Building.
HKIA Fellows are elected members who have a minimum of 15 years standing in HKSA/HKIA and in practice for 15 years, or have made a significant contribution to the work of the HKIA or to the field of architecture.
