13 December 2021

Aedas Executive Director Wei Li attended the 2021 SingCham Shanghai Sustainability Forum and as a special guest representing the architectural design industry, he delivered a speech in keeping with the theme “From Decarbonization to Carbon Neutrality”.

“In the architectural design industry, sustainable low-carbon strategies are widely practiced across the design process, throughout the ideation regarding the narrative, material, and functional disposition,” Wei Li said, “These low-carbon measures combined with the use of renewable energy can offset consumptions and help create zero-carbon buildings.”

Wei Li proceeded to cite two Aedas projects as examples. The design for the Star, located in the core area of Singapore, maximises natural ventilation and employs sustainable temperature control system; a low-carbon circulation is promoted in the functional layout of the Shanghai Mapletree Business City Office Park.

With a long tradition of promoting green and sustainable buildings, Aedas designed a great many projects that were recognized by international standards for green buildings. This vision of charting a sustainable future has not wavered, as proven by the continued investment in research and talents.
