Lama began her journey with Aedas as an intern before graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering from the American University in Dubai, UAE. She has since emerged as a distinguished professional, earning recognition as the 2023 Architecture Leaders Awards – Woman Architect of the Year.
A Saudi architect with extensive experience across the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lama has contributed to a diverse range of projects. Her dedication, ambition, and commitment to growth led to multiple promotions, culminating in her role as an associate at Aedas, where she now leads large-scale, exclusive projects in Saudi Arabia, competing against international architectural firms.
As female architects remain underrepresented in major global firms, Lama strives to empower young women to challenge societal constraints and claim their rightful place in the profession. She serves as an inspiring example for aspiring female architects, demonstrating resilience, leadership, and excellence.
With over seven years of experience in master planning, hospitality, mixed-use, residential, and transport projects, Lama is deeply passionate about concept design – a phase she sees as the foundation for innovation and creativity. She believes that meaningful design must embrace the Past, Present, and Future, forming a seamless synthesis that reflects the evolving nature of architecture. Her work across diverse briefs and scales has allowed her to explore dynamic solutions that shape distinctive experiences for users, reinforcing the timeless interplay between history, contemporary needs, and future possibilities.
