Ralph Leung is our Global Legal Director supporting Aedas’ operations globally. Ralph holds bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering from HKU, account & finance from LSE and law from UOL and master’s degrees in law and business administration from HKU, construction law from RGU and professional accounting from OpenU. As a result of his multifaceted background, Ralph brings unique insight into the role and offers comprehensive assistance to our architects and designers on a wide range of legal issues and matters.
A Registered Professional Engineer (Civil and Structural) in Hong Kong, Ralph is also a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer, Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Builder, and Chartered Tax Adviser. Following his time as an engineer, Ralph pivoted into the legal field and has become particularly well-versed in construction law and dispute resolution. He is a practising arbitrator and adjudicator and is accredited by various arbitration institutions, including HKIAC, AIAC, CIETAC, SHIAC, and SCIA – these qualifications are a testament to his passion for the discipline and continued pursuit of knowledge in the area.
Ralph is a committed member of the construction – a Fellow and Reviewer of the ICE and ICES, serving the ICES as a member of its Professional Standards Committee and the Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee of the Hong Kong Regional Committee. Representing the ICES, he contributed to the DEVB’s Working Group on Security of Payment Legislation for the Construction Industry to establish the HK legislative framework during 2011-2015.
