Worked as an architect and interior designer for over 27 years, Thao is an experienced design professional with a wide portfolio of work. With involvement in all stages of a project, he has completed work ranging from commercial, retail, institutional, educational, industrial and mixed-use developments as well as integrated major transportation infrastructure. His career started in Australia, working with some of the country’s most respected architectural firms for over 12 years. Since joining Aedas Singapore office in 2009, he has applied his evolving knowledge of architectural design within the different geographical contexts he works in. He has involved with projects throughout Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Myanmar, the Middle-East and Australia.
With experience gained in several building typologies, he has worked with clients from the private sector to government bodies including the highest level of national security design criteria. In a typical project, he is actively engaged with various user groups and stakeholders from the early stages of brief development through to the design and construction phases. He is capable of managing different sized teams concurrently in delivering jobs with varying degrees of scale, complexity and timeframe. He has successfully completed numerous projects from feasibility to construction, also involving post occupancy evaluation to ensure that the life cycle of a building and development meets the clients’ initial brief and ongoing requirements. Having developed his skills through a gradual process of experiential learning within the industry, he is a dedicated professional with a holistic approach to design and problem solving.
