The ancient Chinese tradition has called the river estuary a gate, meaning the gateway to the river. Hengqin Shizimen and Macau both have a unique location, with the river flows cross the city and connects the river bank. This case is inspired by the ‘Auspicious Pisces’ in Chinese traditional culture, creating the design concept of ‘Fish Leaping Dragon Gate’, which perfectly matches the unique geographical features and cultural meanings of Shizimen and Macao.
Based on the square plane and the simple volume of the building, two elegant upward curves shaped like Pisces shaped the curvy elevation. The architectural form ‘Yuyue Longmen’ echoed with the international financial centre, which is the highest tower of Shizimen, illuminating the Hengqin city skyline and creating a beautiful scene between Hengqin Shizimen CBD and Macau.
