Marsh & McLennan Jakarta Smart Office

Our first (of five) collaborations to date with Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) was for their Jakarta office. This was the first integration project right after the acquisition of Jardine Lloyd Thompson. Known as Smart Office, a term uniquely used by MMC, we implemented an agile office environment where there is a 100% open plan office, with unassigned seats and no enclosed offices. The concept of the office is to express MMC’s global brand through their strong corporate colours with muted whites, greys and wood combined with indigenous materials, vibrant colours and local decor. Connectivity is key so all staff can work anywhere with their laptops, soft phone software and headsets. With this in mind, the new office has different work settings to cater to different types of work styles and requirements. The workstations, for example, are upholstered with local Indonesian batik fabrics. The result is a more dynamic, vibrant, and energized work environment. There was post occupancy review undertaken which, to our delight, staff were thrilled and re-energised with the new space. The staff hub we created is always busy; everyone loves grabbing a coffee and interacting with each other in an alternative space.
