13 years after Aedas completed the previous renovation, this new 120 million renovation project commenced in 2010 to elevate this landmark building to become one of the premier high-end retail centres while furthermore giving a new grand double height lift lobby for the office tower. The refurbishments involved the complete re-fit of the front of house retail arcade finishes, demolishing concrete floor slabs to open up a double height lift lobby and replacing two 5-storey entry facades and entries of the arcade. The intent of the base decor was to be delicately warm. Highlighting the experience are the new escalator voids which are clad in bespoke leather panels and curved wood echoed by the softtotouch curve of the timber balustrade handrails. The atrium focus is of the gentle curved wood and leather columns, delicate stainless steel detailing and fibre optic concrete panels extending 5-storeys and terminating with a one of a kind floating crystal sculpture and light feature.
