In joint venture with Huayi Design, Aedas won the design competition for a pioneering project at the East Wing of the Shenzhen Campus of the Cooperation Zone. Positioned at the heart of the Cooperation Zone, it offers easy access to Futian Port and New Huanggang Port (where Aedas also served as the lead architect), with unobstructed views towards the Hong Kong Campus and the wetland beyond.
The 260,000 sq m complex features an iconic Grade-A office tower, two high-rise residential buildings and a shopping center podium, fostering an international business environment that encourages technological entrepreneurship and a balanced lifestyle. The layout of the three towers maximises landscape views, with the office tower situated on the east side and the residential buildings to the north.
Inspired by the Chinese idiom – “Plant a parasol tree, comes the phoenix with glee,” the tower mimics the form of the Chinese parasol tree, and integrates seamlessly into the urban landscape. Its layered curtain wall reflects the airy feathers of a phoenix, symbolising hospitality and the shared prosperity between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
