Woodlands Station, Thomson-East Coast Line

Singapore

Woodlands Station is among the three newly opened stations on the northern portion of Singapore’s Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). It provides the northern Interchange with the existing elevated North South Line, serving MRT lines to the West, South and East of Singapore, with the possibility of a new Malaysia cross border station to its North.

The design endeavours to interface and integrate with the surrounding context circulations and building forms. It provides a direct and seamless link to the adjacent bus interchange and future commercial developments with a new underground pedestrian link-way at concourse level, seeking to optimise commercial opportunities in the area. The station architecture not only integrates but enhances the surrounding context, while generating a unique and recognisable transport facility for now and for the future.
