Wuhan Hanyang Station-city Integrated Area Urban Design and Station Complex Building Concept Design

Wuhan / PRC

Hanyang Station is a large-scale comprehensive TOD integrating national railways, provincial intercity railways, four urban rail lines and public transportation facilities. As an important hub of Xiwu-Fu high-speed railway and one of the main hubs of “one port, four main and two auxiliary”, it has important strategic significance for Wuhan to build an international comprehensive transportation hub city.

The entire high-speed rail functional zone of Hanyang Station was promoted to build the station’s high-speed rail hub to the highest standard. Aedas proposed a design concept of “South Station, North City; East-West Dual Core” fully integrating ecological landscapes, public spaces, transportation organization, industrial planning and other design principles to create a highly integrated solution. The design overcomes the drawbacks of traditional railway hubs in addition to achieving high standards in urban construction.
